Marius van der Merwe, Metallurgical Engineer, Project Manager and entrepreneur with more than 21 years’ experience. Marius is the technical lead on the development of NewCarbon’s technology units and drives business development. He is the Founding Director and CEO of NewCarbon.
Mario du Plooy, Founding and New Innovations Director with 8 years’ experience in liquid-carbon production for agriculture. Mario is an innovator able to challenge established thought with lateral thinking and disruptive ideas. His current focus is on development of feedstock supply and preparation.
Belinda van der Merwe, Founding and Health Director, is a medical doctor and health specialist in nutrition. Belinda focusses on researching NewCarbon’s markets and potential product applications, with specific focus on health and nutrition products in conjunction with specialists.
Bernie Kemp, Senior Design Engineer and Engineering Manager with over 25 years’ experience in the engineering industry. Bernie plays a key role in optimising the pyrolysis process by converting conceptual ideas and discussions into detailed mechanical designs, and ensuring these designs are fabricated according to the required specifications and quality standards. He is responsible for developing design blueprints, facilitating the testing of prototypes, and overseeing the manufacturing process according to said design specifications and standards, within the agreed upon project timelines.
